Should You Start Strength Training?
Strength training is crucial for endurance athletes looking to improve performance and prevent injuries.
I often get asked whether it's the right time to start, so I put together a video and flowchart (see below) to guide you through the decision-making process.

While I created it for paddlers in my Paddle Stronger programme, the concepts apply to all endurance athletes.
No Gym? No Problem!
If you’re looking to start strength training but don’t want to commit to a gym, I’ve got you covered. I’ve designed a Intro strength plan for endurance athletes using Training Peaks’ new strength function.
It focuses on:
✅ Hip stability and mobility
✅Posterior chain strength
✅Tendon and joint health.
This program requires no equipment and incorporates isometric holds—an effective way to strengthen tendons (think of those grumpy knees and Achilles that many endurance athletes deal with).
